How photo try-on works
Three pages: what a virtual fitting room is, how photo try-on differs from AR, and what people mean by Zara AI try-on. None of them replace a size chart or promise fewer returns.
- What a virtual fitting room is
A virtual fitting room lets someone preview a garment on a body before they buy. On a fashion product page that usually means the shopper uploads a photo and sees the piece on themselves. It is a visual preview, not a live AR camera and not a size guarantee.
- Photo try-on vs AR in fashion retail
Photo try-on takes a still photo and composites a garment onto the person. AR uses a live camera to overlay an item in the room or on a moving face. Apparel on a product page is usually the photo job. Glasses, makeup, and live mirrors are usually the AR job.
- What Zara's AI try-on actually is
Zara Try-on is a feature inside the Zara app. Press coverage of Inditex described it as an avatar built from a face photo and a full-body photo, then dressed in Zara products. It is not a Shopify app, and ConfidFit is not affiliated with Zara.
